Full-Service Transmission Repair
Out of all the components and systems that are found in your vehicle, nothing plays a bigger role in your vehicle’s performance than the transmission system (except maybe the engine!). Responsible for changing the gears within your vehicle, the transmission system is the reason why you’re able to drive your vehicle forward and backward. For manual vehicle owners, they have the added benefit of controlling the RPM’s within their vehicle while they drive. That’s why when your vehicle’s transmission system runs into trouble, you need an auto shop that’ll understand how to properly service it. That’s where L&D Automotive can help you.

How to Monitor Your Transmission
Just like every other component in your vehicle, the transmission system needs to be consistently monitored and serviced. This helps it avoid any serious problems and helps you avoid any expensive repairs and replacements. Wondering what you can do to stay aware of the transmission system's condition? Don’t worry, the L&D Automotive team is here to help you. Here are two methods you can utilize!
This will be one of the easiest ways to monitor, as you won’t have to do anything until the light goes off! Many of today’s vehicles are equipped with a variety of signals that will indicate when a system or component is starting to fail. For the transmission system, a typical light that you'll see is the “Transmission Temperature” light. This light indicates that the transmission is running hotter than normal, and that's due to an abnormally hot transmission fluid. Another light that you may see is the “Check Engine Light,” which will indicate that the total operation of the transmission may be failing. Regardless of what it may be, make sure you visit our shop as soon as these lights are triggered!
With the engine running and warm, remove the dipstick, clean it, reinsert it into the tube, and pull it back out. If the transmission fluid is pink and clear, that means it's still in good condition. If the fluid has a burnt smell and is brown, that means it may need to be changed (a service we offer!). Along with that, see where the fluid mark ends. Just like motor oil, it should be at “Full” or in-between “Full’ and “Add” (these marks may be different in your vehicle). If it isn’t, make sure you visit us and we’ll be able to safely add more fluid to the transmission system!
